February 27th, 2007 News Nellie turns 54 years old at Marineland's Dolphin Conservation Center in Florida.  Mango and Jade moved from Sea World of Florida to the National Aquarium in Baltimore.  Jett moved from Indianapolis to Brookfield Zoo.
February 27th, 2007 Site Updates Work on the site has been slow lately but more updates are coming.  Lots of news in the captive cetacean world these days.
January 6th, 2007 Site Updates Working on mostly aesthetic changes. Trying to make all the pages uniform in their formatting. Most of the data entry is at a standstill simply because we are waiting on an updated MMIR. Once we get that we'll be able to fill in more information.

December 27th, 2006 News Leaping Dolphin Lands On Woman - A woman is fighting for her life after being knocked unconscious by an 80kg dolphin. The 27-year-old was in a critical but stable condition in an Auckland hospital last night after the bottle-nosed dolphin became "over-excited" and jumped on board her 5.5m runabout on Boxing Day. She was knocked unconscious when the dolphin landed on top of her. The cetacean smashed a windscreen on the boat before plunging back into the sea near Slipper Island, in the western reaches of the Bay of Plenty, off New Zealand's North Island. Read More

December 22nd, 2006 Site Updates Added the Dolphin Experience in the Bahamas. Working on added pacific white-sided dolphins and other species onto the individual pages.
December 19th, 2006 Site Updates Adding more facilities to the main page. We have to sort through these to determine which parks hold dolphins, beulgas or other species. Lots of changes are needed so please be patient. There's a lot of data to sort through and we have limited time. In the future there will be a "Sort By Species" option. Working on that too - sorted the Sea World of California page. Added names of the commies and the pilot whales to SWC. Yes, we realize killer whales are dolphins but we are excluding them for the moment. In the future they will have their own page. Belugas will have their own page too.

December 16th, 2006 News Marra the dolphin confirmed dead - Experts say the dismembered dolphin found in trash bags on an English beach was the same animal that became a tourist attraction earlier this year. Read More.

December 13th, 2006 News Birth at Dolphin Research Center - Merina gives birth to a calf at DRC. This makes the 3rd calf born there this year!
December 11th, 2006 Site Updates With the exception of Sea Life Park: Hawaii the North American facilities are completly updated. All that remains elsewhere are aesthetic changes to the pages and a final proof read. Fine tuning html code, spell check and general aesthetic changes made to the entire site. Most of the foreign facilites still need html updates - working on this as of right now.
December 6th, 2006 News Birth at Dolphin Research Center - Molly gives birth to a calf at the Dolphin Research Center. This is the second calf to be born at DRC this year.
December 2nd, 2006 News Minnesota Zoo dolphin Ayla, 14, dies after long struggle with scoliosis - With her crooked spine and playful smile, Ayla was one of the Minnesota Zoo's most recognizable and popular entertainers. But after a lifelong battle with severe scoliosis, the 14-year-old Atlantic bottlenose dolphin died Friday morning. Zoo staff euthanized her after she stopped eating Wednesday and stopped responding to medication. Read More
