The information contained within the Ceta-Base and its respective pages come from a variety of public sources including offical park websites, news & press releases, blogs, Facebook, etc. Whenever possible the origin of our infomation will be posted on this page with a link to the original source (if available). Sources are listed below in two categories - General & Specific. General Sources lists the various tools we used to gather our data while Specific Sources are the result of this data gathering. Specific references are organized alphabetically with the following hierarchy - region > facility > source date.

General Sources of Information:

Cetacean Cousins - a cetacean inventory website useful for cross referencing and information on animals outside the United States.
Google News (free) - internet search of the latest news, keyword searches can yield relevant results.
Google News Archive (free) - general newspaper archive, PDFs of articles
OrcaHome - the original captive orca website with up to date information on captive killer whales.
Newspaper Archive (subscription service) - general newspaper archive, PDFs of articles
Reseau Cetaces - current website with cetacean news and monthly "news in brief" on captive cetaceans.
Sun-Sentinel Database: Marine Mammal Inventory Report (free) - a database reproduction of the Marine Mammal Inventory Report. Please note that his database does have some errors/typos and is most helpful when used as a cross-referencing tool.
