HISTORY

Winter was rescued on Dec 10 2005 from the Mosquito Lagoon near Cape Canaveral. She was just three months old at the time and was entangled in a crab trap line. As she attempted to escape the rope wound tighter around her peduncle, cutting off the blood supply to her tail. As a result of this Winter lost her entire fluke and two vertebra to necrosis.
